Sanford H. Robbins, III, M.D.

Dr. Robbins is a practicing anatomic and clinical pathologist based in Annapolis, Maryland. In addition to being a Medical Review Officer certified by the American Association of Medical Review Officers, he is a fellow of the College of American Pathologists, the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and a member of the Maryland Society of Pathologists. He currently serves as the Chief of Pathology at Anne Arundel Medical Center, where he has worked since 1990.

Dr. Robbins is a graduate of the Georgetown University School of Medicine. After doing a residence in pathology at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center he served four additional years in the U.S. Army Medical Corps, stationed at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point before joining the staff at Anne Arundel Medical Center in 1990. He also spent 10 years as the Medical Director of the former SmithKline Beecham Clinical Laboratories’ Baltimore laboratory. 

His current responsibilities include Medical Director of the clinical laboratory and surgical pathology department at Anne Arundel Medical Center, Medical Review Officer for the hospital’s drug testing program, an active role on numerous committees within the medical center, and leadership activities for the medical staff.
